Connected Vehicle QA Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

Polaris, a global powersports leader, is looking for a Connected Vehicle QA Engineer to build high quality products on the Ride Command team. This is an exciting position on a team building world-class connected rider solutions. As a technical contributor on the team, you will have the ability and empowerment to make changes and move quickly. You will have the opportunity to directly impact cellular connectivity, infotainment, and cloud development projects at Polaris. The ideal candidate is effective in a fast-paced Agile development environment, pushing industry best practices and system maturity through analysis, automated testing, and performance testing of Ride Command products. Interest in powersports is a plus, as there are many opportunities to ride!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

+ Contribute to connected vehicle quality initiatives by developing robust test plans that exercise full system functionality and align with program requirements

+ Organize testing efforts to align with product delivery timelines

+ Flexible enough to work on multiple products being produced for a fast-changing market

+ Have a customer-focused mindset for delivering a product that is centered around a great customer experience

+ Analyze system performance for bottlenecks

+ Creating and maintaining automation scripts

+ Be an active participant in enhancing a mature agile environment

+ Take necessary measures to ensure adoption of latest testing trends in daily code development activities

+ Thoroughly document issues found, assign proper severity, and drive resolution

+ Responsible for executing both manual and automated test scripts to verify Infotainment component functional and performance requirements

+ Configure benches to support specific test scenarios

+ Participate in on-vehicle testing (including winters)

+ Characterize and document defects including identifying steps to reproduce, linking failures to requirements, and collecting all associated test logs

+ Develop and Update test cases as required

+ Interact with multiple engineering disciplines (Systems Engineering, Software Development, Validation, Suppliers) to support defect resolution

+ Plan and manage execution of weekly verification testing on an Infotainment ECU’s

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

**Minimum Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar degree or 5 years of related working experience

+ Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Automotive SW Test or Development, including experience with test automation and test or software architecture

+ Embedded Linux, and/or C/C++ QA experience

+ Proven experience testing complex, integrated systems with a cloud connectivity component

+ Experience with Agile development methods such as Scrum and Kanban

+ Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ Understanding of Vehicle Electrical Architecture and Subsystem/Features in the Infotainment domain

+ Understanding of Infotainment Operating Systems such as Android and QNX

+ Experience with CAN vehicle communication system and CAN based monitoring tools

+ Familiarity with Firewall and Packet filters, OTA and transport layer

+ Experience with Bluetooth sniffer tools and protocol analyzers

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Testing experience on automotive infotainment or embedded systems

+ Testing experience with RESTful APIs

+ Mobile application testing

+ Bluetooth Classic connectivity testing

+ Testing simulated CAN data (J-1939 preferred)

+ Familiarity with cellular connectivity concepts (APN, VPN, eSIM)

+ Knowledge of Vector Tools (such as CANalyzer)

+ Knowledge of Python
