JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Hematology Oncology, in Hershey, PA is seeking a part time research assistant. The Part-time Research assistant will work in epigenetics and transcriptional regulation in leukemia. The successful applicants will conduct cutting edge research in the regulation of gene expression in leukemia. This will include experiments that will use molecular and cellular biology techniques including qRT-PCR, quantitative chromatin immunoprecipitation (qChIP), ChIP-seq, retroviral and lentiviral production, transfection, luciferase reporter assay, tissue culture, cloning, DNA and RNA isolation, Western blot, protein purification, flow cytometry, as well as isolation of hematopoietic cells from mouse bone marrow and spleen. Depending on skills, the research assistant might be assigned to assist in writing manuscripts.
