Ophthalmology Resource Position

Familiar with surgical specialities including, cataract extraction, lens replacement, cornea reshaping, transplants, retinal detachment, glaucoma and oculoplasty.

Serves as liaison between speciality physicians and Surgery Center. Reviews and maintains physician preference cards, maintains proper fuction of equipment, manages speciality supplies and meets with vendors and serves as a liaison between them, management, and the physicians.

ACLS and PALS certified or completed within 1 year

Purpose

The licensed registered nurse is a professional nurse who is responsible and accountable for providing evidence-based clinical care to designated patients utilizing the nursing process. This is accomplished by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care according to established ethical/cultural codes and standards of nursing practices and working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient outcomes. The registered nurse is responsible to delegate tasks appropriately to other licensed and unlicensed health care team members

Minimum Qualifications

Required :

KY license required to start any RN position but not required to apply or interview.

Graduate from accredited School of Nursing. Meets contact hour requirements for licensure, including all state-required courses. Focus of education promotes nurses' ability to practice in clinical area assigned.

Preferred : BSN, clinical certification, specialized courses and MSN.
