Job Description

The main purpose of the Rooms Controller is to control the house on day of arrival and 7 days out. This person must assure that overbooking in room categories are reconciled and reserved as efficiently as possible. The objective is to promote the operation and marketing goals of maximizing revenue and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities


  • To be thoroughly acquainted with all check-in policies and procedures.
  • Ensure Select Guests and VIPS are assigned appropriately.
  • To be thoroughly acquainted with all check-out policies and procedures.
  • To be familiar with all technical equipment related to the Front Desk.
  • Review group resumes and note information in Log Book on the appropriate day.
  • To be familiar with all hotel facilities.
  • Must have complete understanding of room type availability.
  • To be familiar with the inter-relationship between the different departments, especially Housekeeping and Room Service.
  • Understands and complete the Rooms Controller Checklist.
  • Facilitate a smooth and orderly workflow and maximum service to our guests
  • Assist is storage and delivery of all packages/luggage to the Bell stand. Follows up on a daily basis to see that these packages are delivered within 15 minutes standard and to the proper location
  • Ensure Duplicate Check is completed.
  • Manage all daily room changes
  • Be familiar with ESP Accounts and Last Room Availability.
  • Understand the Reservations restrictions board.
  • Must have full understanding of Opera/Nucleus reservations system


Qualifications

  • Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers, both in person and by telephone
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into computer systems
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department
  • Ability to compute accurate mathematical calculations
  • Ability to think clearly, quickly and make concise decisions
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up
  • Ability to work well under pressure, dealing with many arrivals and departures within a short period of time
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Previous hotel front desk experience is strongly preferred
  • Previous cashiering experience is preferred
  • Fluency in a foreign language is preferred
  • Previous guest relations training is preferred
