We're looking for an energetic, detail-drivenOver-Dimensional (OD) Permit Managerto support the ATS Specialized Flatbed Division and its oversize permitted freight. This role is central to ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient movement of OD loads across the country, annual earning potential up to $100,000+ while creating an exceptional experience for our Drivers.
As the OD Permit Manager, you'll take the lead in coordinating routes, securing permits, managing pricing inputs, maintaining compliance resources, and continuously optimizing our processes and systems. Your work directly impacts service quality, operational efficiency, and cost effectiveness—making this an essential role within our specialized operations.

What You'll Do:
+ Lead, build & guide a high performing team to operate efficiently, deliver exceptional results, and contribute to the company's overall success.
+ Support safe, compliant movement of OD freightby overseeing route identification, permit acquisition, and related documentation.
+ Minimize delays and prevent unnecessary coststhrough proactive planning and resource coordination.
+ Assist with permit pricing and cost evaluationto support strong decision-making.
+ Maintain, update, and enhance internal resources, tools, and systems used for OD permitting.
+ Serve as a subject matter expert—sharing knowledge, coaching others, and promoting permit best practices across the division.
+ Collaborate closely with Drivers, Customer Service, Planning, and internal stakeholdersto reduce friction and enhance the overall experience.
+ Troubleshoot challenges quickly and creatively, ensuring operational continuity and exceptional service.
+ Champion efficiency, accuracy, quality, and productivitywithin the permit function.
What You Bring for Success:
+ Higher education (i.e. two- or four-year degree) in related area and/or three to five years of training in a related area and/or equivalent experience in an operations and customer driven environment.
+ Experience in the Transportation Industry and DOT laws, preferred
+ Passion for leadership and team development, experience preferred.
+ Excellent map reading ability with knowledge of United States geographyand topography.
+ Superb communication skills, both verbal and written.
+ Strong customer service, time management and math skills with a drive for results, perseveres in the face of resistance or setbacks.
+ Solid problem-solving and analytical skills to implement logical and creative conclusions and make well informed quick decisionsand applies influential negotiation skills to persuade.
+ Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
+ Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office and online tools.

Compensation & Benefits
+ Total cash compensation range of this position is $70,000 to $100,000+ which includes a base salary range starting at $60,000 - $72,500+ plus position-specific incentive. Base salary offered is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic location as compared to others doing substantially similar work. In addition to the base salary, employees may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which can vary depending on individual and/or company performance.
