Position Summary
The Lead Mental Health Therapist serves as a key member of a multidisciplinary team within the Adult Schizophrenia Program of the Community Psychiatry division. This clinician functions as both a senior therapist and subject-matter expert, providing advanced clinical care to individuals living with schizophrenia, with a particular focus on those prescribed Clozapine—a highly regulated medication requiring careful coordination and monitoring.

In this leadership role, the clinician fulfills all responsibilities of a Level II therapist while taking on additional duties that support program development, clinical supervision, and staff training. The Lead Therapist collaborates closely with psychiatrists, nursing staff, and the clinical supervisor to ensure excellence in patient care and program outcomes. Responsibilities include overseeing Clozapine management for 80+ patients, mentoring junior clinicians, contributing to program initiatives, and providing supervisory coverage as needed. The typical caseload ranges from 30 to 45 patients, depending on clinical acuity.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or a related field, with two to three years of post-master’s clinical experience.

  • Active LCPC or LCSW-C licensure required.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to apply scientific and clinical principles in treatment planning and decision-making.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated empathy and professionalism in complex or sensitive situations.

Salary Range: Minimum /hour - Maximum /hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
