_Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a_ **_Tooling Configuration Control Analyst/ Sr. Tooling Configuration Control Analyst_** _based in_ **_Sunnyvale, CA_** _._

_The Tooling Configuration Control Analyst owns the configuration‑management life‑cycle for tooling assets, ensuring that every change, drawing, and specification is accurately documented, traceable, and compliant with internal and external Customer requirements. The role provides the formal change‑control process and maintains the tooling configuration library._

**_What you will get to do:_**

+ _Configuration Management of tooling – Create, maintain, and enforce naming conventions, part‑numbering, and tool type classifications for the tooling configuration library._

+ _Change Control & Release – Work with Tool Design Engineering to review engineering change notices, vendor change requests, and substantial design change packages, route change requests, and approve revisions._

+ _Documentation – Validate that all tool artifacts (3‑D models, 2‑D drawings, procurement specifications, inspection plans) are version‑controlled, signed, and stored in the system. Conduct periodic configuration audits for internal and external stakeholders._

+ _Lifecycle Traceability – Maintain traceability matrices linking tooling to system requirements and certification records. Track tool status from initiation through production, use, and decommissioning._

+ _Supplier & Vendor Management – Engage with suppliers to obtain tooling quotes, validate certification paperwork, and confirm compliance, safety, and quality standards._

+ _Process Improvement – Collaborate with tool design engineers to identify gaps in current tooling workflows, recommend integration enhancements (including improvements to the tool request system), and lead focused training for the tool design team._

**_This position may be filled at the Principal or Senior Principal level, depending on the candidate's experience._**

_The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with the ability to organize and prioritize job assignments and tasks. They will be able to work independently as well as in an integrated team and adapt to change and dynamic requirements. They will also possess excellent communication skills, including oral and written presentation skills, as well as strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills, with the ability to solve complex issues._

**_Basic Qualifications for the Principal Configuration Analyst:_**

+ _A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree; OR 3 or more years of relevant experience with a master’s degree. (Note: an additional 4+ years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)._

+ _Experience applying Configuration Management principles._

+ _Experience reviewing 2D drawings for completeness, revisions, and record control._

+ _Minimum 2 years of technical experience in a design and fabrication environment._

+ _Experience evaluating vendor and equipment capability and ability to perform required tasks, including production of tooling as well as unique aerospace part production._

+ _Experience utilizing Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) to document and manage business processes_

+ _Experience working in a (Product Life-Cycle Management System) PLM._

+ _Ability to obtain US Secret Clearance_

+ _US Citizenship required_

**_Basic Qualifications for the Sr. Principal Configuration Analyst:_**

+ _A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree; OR 6 or more years of relevant experience with a master’s degree. (Note: an additional 4+ years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)._

+ _Experience applying Configuration Management principles._

+ _Experience reviewing 2D drawings for completeness, revisions, and record control._

+ _Minimum 2 years of technical experience in a design and fabrication environment._

+ _Experience evaluating vendor and equipment capability and ability to perform required tasks, including production of tooling as well as unique aerospace part production._

+ _Experience utilizing Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) to document and manage business processes_

+ _Experience working in a (Product Life-Cycle Management System) PLM._

+ _Ability to obtain US Secret Clearance_

**_Preferred Qualifications for Both Levels:_**

+ _Experience with PLM systems such as Teamcenter_

+ _Experience with Configuration Management principles_

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $117,500.00 - $176,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
