Position Title
Project Architect
Location: Santa Ana, California
Reports To: Principal
Position Summary
The Project Architect is responsible for the technical development, coordination, and successful
delivery of architectural projects from Programming through Construction Administration. This
position provides technical leadership to the project team while working closely with the Project
Manager, Job Captain, consultants, clients, and production staff to ensure projects are delivered
on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with SVA Architects' quality standards.
Projects will primarily include K-12 Educational (DSA) facilities throughout Southern and
Northern California. Housing, Multifamily, Affordable Housing.
Depending upon project size, complexity, and staffing, the Project Architect may also serve as
the Project Manager and assume responsibility for overall project management, client
communication, project schedules, budgets, staffing, and consultant coordination.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Leadership
• Lead the technical development of assigned projects throughout all phases of design and
construction.
• Ensure project documents meet SVA Architects' quality standards.
• Coordinate architectural design with structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing,
landscape, and specialty consultants.
• Review work prepared by project team members for quality, constructability, and
technical accuracy.
• Assist in developing project work plans, staffing requirements, and project schedules.
• Identify technical issues and develop practical design solutions.
• Participate in internal quality control reviews.
Qualifications
• Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture from an accredited institution.
• California Architectural License preferred; candidates actively pursuing licensure will
also be considered.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of architectural experience.
• Experience with Housing, Multifamily, Affordable Housing, and/or K-12 Educational
projects.
• DSA project experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of California building codes and construction practices.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Revit and BIM project delivery.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
