**Responsibilities**
**Job Summary / Purpose**
Under the direction of the health care provider, the phlebotomist contributes to the delivery of patient care that promotes the well-being and safety of all patients and staff.
**Essential Key Job Responsibilities**
+ Collects and prepares ordered specimens for laboratory analysis using procedures consistent with safe work practices and proper laboratory techniques, while maintaining the integrity of specimens.
+ Performs patient point of care testing.
+ Ensures required safety checklists and quality controls are completed and action taken if indicated.
+ Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
+ Ensures patient exam rooms are stocked, clean, and orderly.
+ Escalates non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns timely and appropriately.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent required
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Assocation required upon hire
+ At least 1 year of previous phlebotomist experience strongly preferred but not required
**Pay Range**
$14.78 - $20.33 /hour
