**CTG is seeking to fill a Data Governance Consultant position for our client.**
**Location:** Remote
**Duration:** 9 months, with possibility for extension
**Role Overview**
We are seeking an experienced **hands-on technician/engineer** for this role, not a Principal, Architect, or Manager-level consultant.
This role will execute and operationalize enterprise data governance initiatives across multiple business units and platforms (including SAP, Blue Yonder, and OneStream). The ideal candidate is highly technical, detail-oriented, and experienced in configuring and supporting governance tools — particularly **Alation (minimum 3+ years hands-on experience required)** .
This is an execution-focused role responsible for building, configuring, and sustaining governance capabilities — not leading strategy or managing teams.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Execute and operationalize enterprise data governance frameworks, standards, and policies
+ Perform hands-on configuration, administration, and support of **Alation** (minimum 3+ years direct experience required)
+ Define, document, and maintain data products, KPIs, and Critical Data Elements (CDEs)
+ Support and operationalize a Data Stewardship Program in partnership with business stakeholders
+ Implement and support data governance, data quality, metadata, lineage, and catalog solutions
+ Configure workflows, metadata ingestion, lineage integrations, and stewardship processes in governance tools
+ Support centralized Master Data Management (MDM) processes
+ Monitor data quality metrics and assist in remediation activities
+ Deliver tool-specific enablement sessions and user support
+ Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and internal data controls
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ **5+ years of overall experience in data governance, data management, analytics, or related technical fields**
+ **Minimum 3+ years of hands-on Alation configuration, administration, and implementation experience (required)**
+ Strong working knowledge of:
+ Data governance frameworks
+ Metadata management
+ Data quality and profiling
+ Data lineage
+ Master Data Management (MDM)
+ Experience working across modern data platforms, Big Data environments, and traditional data warehouses
+ Ability to execute independently in a hands-on technical capacity
+ Strong documentation and execution discipline
+ Professional verbal and written English communication skills
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) environments
+ Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, or SAP BOBJ
+ Experience supporting SAP, Blue Yonder, or OneStream environments
+ Exposure to data privacy and regulatory compliance requirements

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $88.00 to $102.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
