**The opportunity**
In this role, you will identify and define user/customer requirements, focusing on developing user interfaces (UI) across various platforms such as mobile, web, and tablets. You will be responsible for creating software components and services that interact seamlessly with upstream and downstream components, ensuring that business requirements are met through effective coding and programming.
**Your key responsibilities**
As a Senior Application Designer and Developer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative solutions. Your time will be spent on various responsibilities, including:
+ Collaborating with clients to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring that the final product meets their needs.
+ Designing and developing user interfaces that are not only functional but also enhance user experience.
+ Writing clean, maintainable code and creating specifications that support business objectives.
+ Technical implementations involving full stack solutions.
+ Participating in development teams while staying hands-on and involved in day-to-day development, code reviews, best practices, and mentorship of junior developers on your team.
+ Thought leadership that brings experience and skill to solve technical problems and provides innovative solutions across the full stack (front-end, back-end), focusing on the development, customization, and optimization of digital and cloud-based solutions.
+ Contributing to the architecture and design of new and current systems, including considerations such as security, reliability, and scalability.
+ Participating in end-to-end agile software delivery by leading sprint planning, product requirements grooming, sprint reviews with demo sessions, and retrospectives using agile frameworks like Scrum and SAFe.
+ Seeing projects through to success from inception to launch and support in collaboration with EY and client project leadership.
Regular travel may be required to meet with clients, providing you with the opportunity to engage directly with stakeholders.

**To qualify for the role, you must have**
+ A Bachelor’s degree required (4-year degree).
+ Typically, no less than 2 - 4 years relevant experience in professional software engineering.
+ Expertise in development tools like Visual Studio Code, IntelliJ, or similar.
+ Expertise with version control systems and code collaboration platforms like GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket or similar.
+ Command-line proficiency and an ability to configure and manage systems, local and cloud based.
+ Expertise in at least one programming language, preferably with knowledge of both front-end and back-end languages with familiarity on modern full-stack development frameworks such as Java SprintBoot, .NET, React, Angular, Vue.js, Node.js, Go or similar.
+ Strong database skills, encompassing both relational and non-relational databases, SQL or NoSQL, coupled with experience in optimizing database queries.
+ Experience working with API’s.
+ Knowledge of Quality Assurance practices.
+ Understanding of Testing practices.
+ Self-sufficiency in issue identification, debugging and resolution, with the ability to work independently and with a team.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
**Ideally, you’ll also have**
+ Experience building cloud native/microservices architecture applications and platforms.
+ Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
+ Experience with event streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka).
+ Experience with user facing revenue generating platforms.
+ Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.
+ Experience in complex problem-solving and critical thinking.
+ Strong emotional agility and the ability to collaborate in hybrid environments.
+ A proactive approach to learning and adapting to new technologies.

+ We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $102,500 to $187,900. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $122,900 to $213,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
+ Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
