Systems Engineer I Digital Engineering & Ecosystem

**Job Description**

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to join a team shaping how our organization engineers, integrates, and executes complex programs in an increasingly digital environment.

Our team is expanding from a foundation in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) into a broader Digital Ecosystem focus, connecting engineering methods, processes, data, models, tools, and people to improve how programs execute and make decisions.

This is fundamentally an engineering role. We are looking for someone who thinks in terms of systems, relationships, interfaces, requirements, and lifecycle impactsnot simply individual tools or technologies. The ideal candidate is curious, learns quickly, communicates well, and wants the opportunity to help shape new ways of working across the organization.

Prior MBSE experience is beneficial but is not required. We are particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate strong systems thinking and the ability to learn and apply new engineering methods.

What You ll Do:

+ Support systems engineering and digital engineering activities across programs and enterprise initiatives.

+ Assist in developing system models, architectures, requirements, interfaces, workflows, and other engineering artifacts.

+ Apply systems thinking to understand relationships among requirements, functions, architectures, disciplines, organizations, and lifecycle activities.

+ Support MBSE implementation and adoption using established modeling methods and tools.

+ Work with experienced systems engineers to analyze complex problems and translate engineering needs into structured solutions.

+ Support development and improvement of engineering processes, methods, standards, and reusable approaches.

+ Collaborate with engineering disciplines, programs, and enabling organizations to improve integration across the engineering lifecycle.

+ Identify opportunities to responsibly apply AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve engineering effectiveness and reduce repetitive work.

+ Assist with prototypes, demonstrations, analyses, training materials, and technical communications.

+ Participate in a team helping define and implement the organization s evolving digital engineering ecosystem.

+ Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

+ Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

+ Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

+ Perform other duties as necessary.

**On-Site Work Environment:** This position requires regular in-person engagement by working **on-site three or more days** each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

**Working Conditions:**

+ Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.

+ May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.

+ May access other facilities in various weather conditions.

**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**

+ BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required.

+ Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Bachelor s or Master s, may substitute for two years of related experience. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

+ Demonstrated systems thinking and ability to understand complex, interconnected technical problems.

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

+ Ability and desire to learn new engineering concepts, methods, and technologies quickly.

+ Solid communication skills.

+ Ability to collaborate effectively across technical disciplines and organizational boundaries.

+ Interest in supporting meaningful change and helping shape how engineering work is performed.

+ Experience with or demonstrated interest in applying AI, automation, or emerging technologies to engineering problems.

A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.

**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**

+ Academic, internship, research, or project experience with systems engineering or MBSE.

+ Exposure to SysML, system architecture, requirements development, interface definition, or system modeling.

+ Familiarity with MBSE or engineering tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw, Jama, DOORS, MATLAB/Simulink, CAD/CAE, PLM, or similar environments.

+ Exposure to aerospace, defense, or other complex engineered systems.

+ Experience working on multidisciplinary engineering projects.

+ Basic scripting, data analysis, or automation experience.

**Pay Information**

Full-Time Salary Range: $64926 - $110374

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
