Engineer Principal Analog and Power Design

The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers missions. **What You ll Do:**

+ Responsible for system and detailed circuit development, modeling, and simulation for high reliability electronic systems. Primary focus on power supply, general analog, and mixed signal electronics.

+ Perform detailed analyses including power dissipation and consumption, stability, reliability, and risk mitigation.

+ Work with Parts Engineers to select and approve EEE components to meet program requirements.

+ Work closely with PWB packaging and layout engineers.

+ Interface with Systems Engineers and Mil-Std documentation to define derived functional and performance requirements.

+ Define and implement test and verification methodology at the board level and provide support at the box level during environmental test.

+ Provide technical guidance and review of qualification testing.

+ Lead resolution of hardware anomaly root cause and corrective action investigations at the board and box levels.

+ Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

+ Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

+ Perform other duties as necessary.

**On-Site Work Environment:** This position requires regular in-person engagement by working **on-site five days** each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

**Working Conditions:**

+ Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.

+ May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.

+ May access other facilities in various weather conditions.

**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**

+ BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 12 or more years related experience.

+ Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

+ Experience with analog electronic circuit design, electronic systems, as well as related software.

+ Well versed in circuit-level switch mode power supply design and analog electronics using DC-DC converter ICs, op-amps, MOSFETs, and data converters.

+ Solid grasp of EMI/EMC concepts including system level grounding and shielding.

+ Experience with circuit analysis tools such as LTspice and P-spice.

+ Hands-on test experience in a lab environment using test equipment such as a DMM, Oscilloscope, Pulse generator, current probe, Spectrum Analyzer, etc.

+ Good communication skills, as well as presentation skills.

A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.

**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**

+ Understanding of and experience with buck, boost, fly back, forward converters is a plus.

+ Space or military design experience highly desired, but not required.

+ Experience with Mil-Std-704, Aircraft Electronics Power Characteristics specification and test is a plus.

+ Design experience with high power pulsed loads is a plus.

+ Design of analog control electronics and precision instrumentation experience is preferred.

+ Experience with Schematic capture tools Mentor, OrCad Cadence is preferred.

+ Experience designing mixed signal analog/digital/FPGA electronics is a plus.

**Pay Information**

Full-Time Salary Range: $154000 - $194500

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
