A Reliability Engineer’s responsibility is to eliminate unscheduled downtime and increase the life of our assets. At Vicksburg, reliability engineering combines traditional maintenance engineering with process engineering for a holistic approach to address downtime liabilities on a production system. Reliability Engineers focus on making sustainable improvements to critical manufacturing systems and have secondary departmental assignments. The Senior Reliability Engineer reports directly to the Mill Reliability Leader and is a member of the Mill’s Maintenance and Engineering group. Pay will vary depending on experience and skill of the successful candidate.

**The Job You Will Perform:**

Reliability Engineers must be able to interact effectively with all the levels of the organization – from maintenance craftsmen and operators through mill and corporate management. They work closely with operating and maintenance leaders to eliminate chronic problems and to support high priority area objectives. Excellent communication skills are a necessity. Reliability engineering assignments have true impact on the performance of the mill and offer a challenging and rewarding career.

A Reliability Engineer will be accountable for:

+ Working safely in an industrial environment

+ Eliminating unscheduled maintenance downtime

+ Managing asset criticalities, equipment care strategies, and maintenance policies to ensure failure prevention

+ Resolving chronic problems using RCFA or other structured problem-solving techniques

+ Leading step change improvements in key focus areas critical to the mill’s success

+ Influencing maintenance activities to achieve reliability targets and increase asset life

+ Managing repair and capital projects that directly impact the reliability of the equipment throughout the mill

+ Improving Reliability systems and behaviors

+ QA/QC advocate for area

+ Area advocate for maintaining RI database

+ Develop systems to prevent repeat failures

+ Service as IPCC rep as needed to support area maintenance leaders

+ Audit PM for accuracy and necessary changes as they come up

+ Area lead for critical equipment that require outside repairs such as cranes, tanks, etc.

+ Develop equipment checkout procedures for incoming repair/return items

+ Champion roles such as MPM, PM, Lubrication for assigned area

+ Member of area MWS team providing feedback as required

**The Skills You Will Bring:**

+ A bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical or chemical engineering is preferred with 5+ years’ experience in a maintenance/reliability function.Non-degreed candidates with significant experience in a related function will also be considered.

+ Pulp/Paper mill experience is preferred.

+ CMMS Systems (SAP is highly preferred)
