Software Engineer II

CTG is seeking to fill a Software Engineer II opening for our client.

**Location:** Remote

**Duration:** 6 months

**Primary Responsibilities:**

+ Perform and oversee systems analysis, design, development, testing, debugging, and implementation for basic to complex applications.

+ Serve as a key individual contributor on complex technology projects and maintain a strong functional understanding of supported applications.

+ Coordinate development activities and provide technical guidance to less experienced team members as needed.

+ Prepare and manage the technical components of project plans, including tasks, timelines, estimates, and deliverables.

+ Collaborate with Development, Operations, Technology, business units, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

+ Develop, review, and execute detailed test plans and test data; troubleshoot and resolve application issues.

+ Analyze complex relationships among programs, interfaces, applications, and technology platforms to identify effective technical solutions.

+ Prepare clear and thorough technical and functional specifications, diagrams, documentation, and project assessments.

+ Evaluate and recommend technologies, policies, and processes that improve application effectiveness and organizational efficiency.

+ Participate in technical evaluations of vendor software and technology solutions.

+ Promote adherence to established development standards, procedures, risk controls, and regulatory requirements.

+ Maintain application performance, reliability, and effectiveness.

+ Identify and escalate technology and risk-related issues as appropriate.

+ Participate in due diligence, cost/benefit analysis, business studies, and other special projects as required.

**Scope of Responsibilities:**

+ Work under the direction of the Technology Team Lead while independently handling high-level systems analysis and technical development activities.

+ Manage assigned technical activities and coordinate project work across small- to large-scale initiatives.

+ Interact with senior management, technology teams, business stakeholders, clients, and vendors.

+ Monitor project activities and contribute to meeting established schedules, milestones, and delivery dates.

+ Provide technical leadership and serve as a technical representative on committees, ad hoc projects, and other initiatives as assigned.

+ Provide backup support to management when required.

**Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:**

+ May direct and monitor the work of less experienced technical resources on a project basis.

+ Coordinate development tasks and provide technical guidance to team members.

+ Review technical documentation and deliverables prepared by less experienced staff.

+ Monitor assigned project activities and support successful delivery within established schedules and requirements.

**Education and Experience Required:**

+ Associate's degree and a minimum of 5 years of systems analysis/application development experience; or, in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years of higher education and/or work experience, including at least 5 years of systems analysis/application development experience.

+ Experience with **.NET Core, JavaScript, and Azure Cloud Services** .

+ Familiarity with application development software, hardware platforms, and enterprise technology environments.

+ Proficiency with personal computers and common project management, word processing, and spreadsheet applications.

+ Ability to manage multiple complex projects and priorities simultaneously.

+ Strong problem-solving, analytical, and lateral-thinking skills.

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting technical information to appropriate audiences.

+ Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail.

+ Experience coordinating between application development teams and business units.

+ Experience recommending and implementing systems solutions.

+ Experience driving project milestones, schedules, and delivery dates.

**Education and Experience Preferred:**

+ Strong understanding of enterprise application frameworks and development standards.

+ Experience serving as a subject matter expert for supported business applications or systems.

+ Advanced understanding of supported applications and integrated/interfacing systems.

+ Experience working effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

+ Ability to manage multiple components of complex technical projects.

+ Action-oriented and proactive approach to problem solving and delivery.

+ Broad understanding of application architecture and the ability to contribute to projects beyond normal business-as-usual activities.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $46.64 - $77.74/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
