Application Database Administrator RDBMS

**CTG is seeking to fill an Application Database Administrator (RDBMS) opening for our client in Boulder, CO.**

**Location:** Remote

**Duration:** 7 months

**Duties:**

+ Administer and support IMS-DB databases, including DBDGEN, PSBGEN, and ACBGEN processes.

+ Design and implement IMS database structures to support application requirements.

+ Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of IMS databases.

+ Utilize IMS database utilities such as Unload, Reload, Image Copy, and Pointer Checker to manage database integrity and efficiency.

+ Conduct performance tuning, monitor database space usage, and optimize database performance.

+ Support environment cloning and configuration replication activities.

+ Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues across development, testing, and production environments.

+ Collaborate with application development teams and other infrastructure teams to provide database-related support.

+ Ensure compliance with standards for database security, backup, and recovery.

**Skills:**

+ Strong expertise in IMS-DB, including DBDGEN, PSBGEN, ACBGEN, and database design.

+ Proficient in the use of IMS database utilities (Unload, Reload, Image Copy, Pointer Checker).

+ Experienced with installation, configuration, and maintenance of IMS databases.

+ Skilled in performance tuning and space monitoring for IMS databases.

+ Familiarity with supporting environment cloning and configuration replication.

**Experience:**

+ Minimum 5+ years of experience working as an IMS-DB Database Administrator or in a similar role.

+ Hands-on experience with complex IMS database environments across large-scale IT systems.

+ Experience in working with cross-functional teams to resolve database and application issues.

**Education:**

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $55.00/hour to $65.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
