LINCS Security Engineer

**Summary:**

Meta is seeking an experienced Security Engineer to join our Infrastructure Data Center (IDC) Security & Compliance team as an individual contributor. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in managing risk for our rapidly scaling global infrastructure and operations portfolio spanning data centers, edge, backbone, subsea, and supply chain. Our mission is to design, implement, and maintain robust physical and logical security systems that ensure business continuity, protect customer data, and assure compliance with Meta’s security policies and regulatory requirements.

**Required Skills:**

LINCS Security Engineer Responsibilities:

1. Serve as a comprehensive security expert accountable for security risk management across logical and physical security domains

2. Assess security risk and communicate information about security threats and vulnerabilities to inform business decisions and drive strategy

3. Assess and report on effectiveness of security controls to inform security strategy, manage security risk, and enable business operations

4. Engineer security solutions across the network, physical, and cyber/logical domains that efficiently protect Meta infrastructure from security threats at scale

5. Develop and operationalize security guidance (e.g., standards, guidelines, playbooks) to align corporate policy, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements into a unified strategy

6. Integrate security solutions throughout the entire data center lifecycle including: planning, design, construction, operations, refresh, and decommissioning

7. Develop and implement custom detection rules tailored to mechanical cooling and electrical systems supporting the facility operations of our data center buildings

8. Support security incident management across all domains, and including maintaining and troubleshooting infrastructure that supports network security tools

9. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience

10. 7+ years of experience in network security, infrastructure security, or telecommunications security, with demonstrated ownership of security programs in large-scale network environments

11. Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent additional experience

12. Technical experience across security domains

13. Experience in establishing, scaling, and maturing security projects and programs

14. Experience supporting security for large-scale and/or mission-critical infrastructure and operations

15. Basic understanding of network engineering fundamentals, such as TCP/IP, routing, switching, network segmentation, and protocol analysis

16. Basic understanding of network security, including the design, implementation, and management of secure network architectures for large-scale network infrastructure

17. Experience working on or managing projects that have enterprise-wide impact and/or multi-organization, cross-functional stakeholders

18. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

19. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)

20. Advanced degree in a related field

21. Experience working directly in hyperscale data center programs or other large-scale mission-critical infrastructure

22. Background in intrusion detection, security investigations, and incident response

23. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

24. Experience in managing, executing, and delivering multiple complex projects and programs by prioritizing based on impact, deadlines, and stakeholder needs

25. Understanding and awareness of prevailing industry standards and guidelines

**Public Compensation:**

$162,000/year to $227,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
