+ **Title:** Histologist

+ **Facility:** St. Joseph’s Hospital – Tampa, FL

+ **Schedule:** PRN

+ **Shift:** Varies between 4:00am-12:30pm, 9:00am-6:00pm

**Responsibilities:**

+ Oversee all phases of tissue processing from fixation through final slide preparation

+ Perform embedding, sectioning, staining, and special histology techniques

+ Maintain laboratory files, records, and documentation required by regulatory agencies

+ Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instruments

+ Monitor and restock laboratory supplies to support workflow needs

+ Ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance across all histology processes

+ Support timely preparation of specimens for diagnostic use

+ Perform other duties as assigned

**Required Education and Experience:**

+ High School Diploma or GED

+ ASCP Certified Histotechnician (HT)

**Preferred Education and Experience:**

+ Completion of a Histotechnology program or related technical training

+ Associate’s degree in a related field

+ Laboratory-related experience

+ Additional ASCP certification
