**Job Description**
BAE Systems is hiring a Program Engineering Manager (PEM) for the Combat Vehicles Product Line.
The PEM will be responsible for the technical and operational leadership of various engineering projects.The PEM leads the project engineering team and is the Program Manager s single interface for all Engineering activity.
The position is located in Sterling Heights, MI.
+ Leads and manages the project Engineering team
+ Primary interface with the project customer technical representatives
+ Prepares the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) describing the execution of Engineering on the project and obtains Engineering Authority (EA) concurrence
+ Responsible for overseeing and directing all engineering work
+ Accountable for adherence to the engineering budget; manages project Engineering to meet engineering cost commitments
+ Participates in Project Performance Reviews (PPRs) to identify issues and problems, assess corrective action plans, and track actions to closure
+ Participates in project customer reviews (SFR, PDR, CDR, etc.) to discuss overall engineering efforts
+ Responsible for all Engineering estimates
+ Assures accurate cost and schedule estimates for all engineering tasks, including added scope tasks and Latest Revised Estimate (LRE)
+ Provides technical guidance and supervision (not direct) for Responsible Engineers and Work Package Managers that are working with subcontracts and other suppliers
+ Participates as a member of the Risk Review Board (RRB)/Joint Risk Review Board (JRRB)
+ Collaborates with functional Engineering
+ Tailors the Engineering Processes to be used in execution of the project with Engineering Functional Management concurrence
+ Assures functional engineering concurrence and staffing plans with schedule and cost commitments
+ Assures functional engineering concurrence with schedule commitments
+ Assures the assigned staff has the requisite skills and experience to execute the scope of work
+ Provides accurate and timely staffing forecasts in engineering staffing database
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Bachelor's Degree in engineering or closely related field and 10 years related work experience.
+ Experience with Department of Defense programs, preferably US Army combat vehicle production and associated processes
+ Demonstrated aptitude for proactive problem solving
+ Strong computer skills with MS Office suite to support metrics, reports and documents
+ Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; attention to detail, coupled with good time management and organizational skills
+ Sound interpersonal skills for interfacing and coordinating with company personnel, customers, and suppliers
+ Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Ability to develop and maintain professional and effective relationships with internal and external customers
+ Experience with manufacturing
+ Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA)
+ Experience presenting data, analysis, and recommendations to senior leadership
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $146670 - $249330
