**Role Summary**

The Staff Acoustics Engineer will work with the Acoustics and Installation Aerodynamic team to perform acoustic design and analysis, lead community noise assessments, and execute noise source analysis for commercial aircraft. In this role, you will also support acoustic attenuation technology maturation efforts, full and subscale acoustic testing, while also driving acoustic tool development. The Staff Acoustic Engineer will rely heavily on computational aeroacoustics (CAA) methods to design for, analyze, and predict commercial aircraft engine component and overall system noise.

**Essential Responsibilities**

As the Staff Acoustics Engineer, you will:

+ Execute and lead acoustic analysis, design, test, and integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies, and systems that meet business standards and product requirements

+ Document and communicate acoustic design, analysis, and test data results

+ Perform computational aeroacoustics (CAA) analyses and grow the use of the capability within the team

+ Support the acoustics team through computational modeling, tool development, and validation

+ Design and assess acoustic liners and treatment technologies utilizing a variety of tool sets

+ Lead and execute acoustic test programs within schedule and budget guidelines

+ Prepare and present technical information to internal and external customers

+ Contribute to process improvement, share lessons learned, standard work, & best practice documentation

+ Interface with internal leadership, suppliers, partners, and airframe customers

+ Prepare invention disclosures to protect technology that gives the business a competitive advantage, as well as protecting the intellectual property rights of the company

+ Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation, and presentation of technical data to internal and external GE customers using reports, records, and letters

**Qualifications/Requirements**

+ Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline

+ Ten years of relevant acoustics experience in the commercial aviation industry

+ Strong background in computational fluid dynamics and/or aeroacoustics

**Desired Characteristics**

+ PhD degree in Engineering with a focus in acoustics and/or compressor aerodynamics

+ Demonstrated competency with CFD and computational aeroacoustic (CAA) prediction methods

+ Experience performing computational analyses on high performance computing (HPC) resources

+ Familiarity of acoustic testing, data post-processing, and evaluation within the aviation industry

+ Demonstrated ability to document, plan, and manage technical programs

+ Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills

Onsite/hybrid work preferred, but exceptionally qualified remote candidates may be considered

The base pay range for this position is 159,100.00 - 182,000.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the

candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/

commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on June 17th, 2024.
