Security Officer - Part Time Patrol

As a **Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol** in **Springfield, IL** , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.
**Pay Rate: $22.38 / Hour**

**Day** **Time**
Tue03:00 PM - 07:00 PM
**How This Role Works:**
+ **Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”):** You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
+ **Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program:** In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control activities, and appropriate emergency response actions at a government location.
+ Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
+ Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity, unsecured areas, and/or policy violations.
+ Monitor entrances, exits, and other assigned areas, assisting with visitor screening, badge verification, and/or directional support in accordance with site protocols.
+ Support daily operations by preparing activity logs, incident reports, and shift communications, and by following post orders and government location procedures.
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
+ Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
+ Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
+ A state, county, and/or city issued security license is preferred.
+ Customer service experience is preferred.
+ Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
+ Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
+ Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
+ Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
+ A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
