**Job Description:**

+ Leads and participates in laboratory performance improvement activities, promoting team building, employee engagement, patient satisfaction, and safety.

+ Follows safety policies including the use of PPE, handwashing, and hazardous chemical handling, and completes required training for handling hazardous waste.

+ May include transport of hazardous waste from the point of generation to a designated secure storage area; employee will be required to complete initial training (prior to handling hazardous waste) and refresher training to include proper handling and transport of hazardous waste, and proper selection, use and disposal of personal protective equipment.

+ Supervises lab assistants and staff to ensure efficient and accurate performance of duties.

+ Provides ongoing training and professional development opportunities for lab staff. Implements and maintains quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable lab results.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**

• Knowledge of laboratory rules and regulations including: CAP, CLIA, and State of Florida. [Required]

• Basic computer and keyboarding skills. [Required]

• Ability and willingness to work independently as well as in a team environment. [Required]

• Ability and willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, etc. [Required]

• Ability and willingness to adapt to change. [Required]

• Excellent communication skills. [Required]

**Education:**

• Bachelor's [Required]

• Master's [Preferred]

**Field of Study:**

• in Medical Technology or related sciences upon hire

• in management, medical technology, or related science

**Work Experience:**

• 5+ experience as a medical technologist with increasing roles of responsibility upon hire [Required]

**Sign On Bonus:**

• $10,000

**Relocation:**

• $5000 - $10,000

**Licenses and Certifications:**

• American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) [Preferred]

• Medical Lab Scientist (MLSAMT) [Preferred]

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Preferred]

• Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) [Preferred]

$30.44 - $56.62
