**Description**

APPLE INC has the following available in Seattle, Washington. Design, engineer, test, and release software solutions, including integrating observability features by collaborating with customer teams, planning timelines, and making configuration and performance changes across the Observability Collection systems. Debug and resolve software defects and issues by screening, prioritizing, implementing, and releasing fixes, while understanding the interactions between the Mosaic Collection systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect requirements, develop project plans, present information, and utilize the capabilities of the Mosaic and Monstor systems, along with knowledge of Apple's data centers, to meet customer needs. Additionally, participate in code reviews to ensure quality, adherence to team standards, and leverage specialized knowledge of the Mosaic Agent system. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $171,600 - $258,100/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

**Minimum Qualifications**

+ Master’s degree or a foreign equivalent in Information Technology or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

+ 3 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:

+ Designing and developing backend services and APIs using Go (Golang) or Java to support observability infrastructure, telemetry ingestion, and data processing pipelines for distributed systems.

+ Deploying and operating containerized applications in Kubernetes-based production environments, including managing observability workloads, configuring deployments and services, and ensuring high availability and reliability of monitoring systems.

+ Designing and integrating high-performance service communication interfaces using HTTP/HTTPS or gRPC, enabling efficient and reliable interactions between observability services and external systems.

+ Implementing system and application observability solutions using Prometheus, including defining metric schemas and labels, exporting and collecting time-series metrics to monitor infrastructure health and performance.

+ Configuring and managing Grafana for visualization and alerting, including creating monitoring dashboards, managing plugins, defining alerting rules, and supporting observability visualization infrastructure.

+ Designing, implementing, and maintaining relational and non-relational databases, including working with technologies such as PostgreSQL or AWS DynamoDB, to support observability data storage, retrieval, and analysis.

+ Designing, implementing, and supporting distributed systems, including applying fault-tolerance techniques, building high-availability architectures, implementing failure detection and recovery mechanisms, and ensuring scalability, consistency, and reliability across multi-service and multi-node production environments.

+ Supporting production systems running on Linux-based operating systems, including troubleshooting operational issues, analyzing system behavior, and maintaining system reliability for observability services.
