Enterprise Systems Engineer

As a Systems Engineer, you will build the infrastructure for our high-traffic, high-visibility services. You will provide operational support for critical services that enable connected experiences found across Meta. This position will be part of the Client Platform Engineering team that manages, implements, and supports client infrastructures enabling the company to grow rapidly and connect with the world.

**Required Skills:**

Enterprise Systems Engineer Responsibilities:

1. Build, scale, and secure the client platform within Meta's enterprise infrastructure, a heterogeneous environment containing varied operating systems and applications

2. Apply modern engineering methodologies such as Infrastructure-as-Code, container orchestration, and software-defined storage

3. Build enterprise-grade applications and utilities for Windows, Linux, VDI, and Chrome Browser using modern programming languages

4. Build reusable libraries, SDKs, and automated frameworks to standardize endpoint lifecycle management across Windows, Linux, Chrome OS, and VDI platforms

5. Engineers and maintain Virtual Desktop Infrastructure solutions across public and private clouds. private cloud environments

6. Implement application virtualization and application streaming technologies

7. Implement systems that are scalable, automated, monitored, and well-documented, and train others to take on operations

8. Find ways to leverage the scale and complexity of the larger Meta production infrastructure to solve problems for enterprise customers

9. Participate in incident root cause analysis through multiple infrastructure layers (compute, storage, network)

**Minimum Qualifications:**

10. BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline

11. 3+ years experience in systems engineering

12. 3+ years experience automating the management of infrastructure and services

13. 3+ years experience working with monitoring and configuration management tools such as Chef and PowerShell DSC

14. 3+ years experience PowerShell scripting (developing advanced functions & modules)

15. 3+ years experience coding in an object-oriented or functional language such as: C#, Python, Ruby, PHP, Rust, or Go

16. A thorough understanding of Windows/Linux operating system internals

17. Demonstrated experience in completing tasks and small/medium features with minimal guidance

18. Experience using source control, such as git or mercurial

19. Experience reprioritizing work based on shifting business needs, communicating trade-offs, and adjusting project plans accordingly

20. Knowledge of Chrome Enterprise and browser management

21. Prior experience in developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Ansible, and cloud-native SDKs to automate endpoint and VDI infrastructure

22. Prior experience in building services, Platform as a Service or internal cloud services

23. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)

24. Experience with Mobile Device Management platforms such as AirWatch, MobileIron, Intune, Device Enrollment Program, Android/Apple Enterprise Device Management

25. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

26. Prior experience with APIs to streamline the administration, management, and monitoring of services

27. Knowledge of virtual desktop infrastructure (Citrix), VMware

28. Knowledge of MDM architecture, design, and implementation for enterprise devices

29. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

30. Experience with device provisioning. zero touch deployment techologies

31. M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline

**Public Compensation:**

$111,000/year to $166,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
