The Design For Excellence (DFX) team is a critical pillar of this mission, ensuring our cutting-edge devices are not only revolutionary in function but manufacturable at scale with the highest standards of quality, cost-efficiency, and reliability.As a DFX Engineering Intern, you will own a scoped manufacturing engineering project with direct mentorship from a DFX engineer. You'll get hands-on exposure to how a product moves from design intent to production reality — working alongside Hardware Engineering, Quality, Test Engineering, and our external manufacturing partners.This internship is for 12 weeks.
**Required Skills:**
DFX Engineering Intern Responsibilities:
1. Assist in developing manufacturing assembly processes, fixtures, and equipment requirements
2. contribute to fixture and line qualification activities.
3. Perform tolerance analysis and GD&T-based studies on assemblies and part-level drawings under the guidance of your mentor.
4. Collect and analyze process data (yield, cycle time, failure modes) and contribute to failure analysis and lessons-learned reports.
5. Investigate a new or improved manufacturing process, applying theoretical and practical engineering knowledge to improve product quality or production efficiency.
6. Present your project findings and recommendations to the DFX team and cross-functional partners at the end of the internship.

7. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a BS or MS in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
8. Coursework or project experience in manufacturing processes, design for manufacturing, or mechanical design
9. Exposure to GD&T and tolerance analysis fundamentals
10. Experience with a 3D CAD (NX, PTC Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA)

12. Experience with data analysis or scripting applied to process or test data
13. Familiarity with precision assembly, inspection, or automation equipment
14. Exposure to adhesives, hot bar, or laser soldering/jetting processes
15. Interest or coursework in AI-driven manufacturing or Smart Factory initiatives
