Intel is seeking GPU Software Development Engineers to join our media software team in Software Group, a global team dedicated to creating groundbreaking video and media experiences. In this role, you will contribute directly to developing innovative software solutions that drive Media and Video acceleration on Intel's graphics architecture for integrated and discrete GPUs. You will have the unique opportunity to collaborate on cutting-edge technologies, optimize performance and quality across the software stack, and create tools and infrastructure that enable next-generation GPU advancements. As a GPU Software Development Engineer your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

+ Develops new cross OS software that delivers Media and Video (Encode, Decode, and Processing) acceleration on Intel's graphics architecture and future integrated and discrete GPUs.

+ Scope can span the entire Intel Media SW stack, from media device drivers through runtimes, APIs and the application layer.

+ -cope also includes the tools, infrastructure, and technologies necessary to develop, profile, optimize, and productize Intel Media software solutions including Media IP pre-Si enabling on Simulation and Emulation, Si performance and quality optimization for Intel GPUs platforms.

**Qualifications:**

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience may be obtained through coursework, academic projects, research, or relevant internship experience.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineer, electrical engineer or and STEM related field with over 6+ years of relevant experience OR a Master's degree in similar domains with 4+ years of relevant experience.

Relevant Experience from one or more of the following includes:

+ Cross-OS software development.

+ Experience with GPU Media and Video acceleration technologies such as DirectX, LibVA, codecs: AVC/HEVC/VVC, AV1, VP8/9, or other new codecs, etc

+ Programming languages, including C++/C.

+ Understanding of GPU architectures.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Experience in media device driver and SDK development.

+ Expertise in optimizing software for GPU performance.

+ Previous work on Si performance and quality optimization.

+ Familiarity with simulation and emulation platforms.

+ Passion for staying updated with emerging GPU and Media technologies.

The group also has HW and SW engineering experts responsible for delivering IP, SOCs, runtimes, and platforms to support the CPU and GPU/accelerator roadmap, inclusive of integrated and discrete graphics.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $149,600.00-245,160.00 USD

The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. **Work Model for this Role**
