The Field Diagnostics Engineering team builds the hardware and software diagnostic solutions that support field repair technicians and enhance the Apple customer ownership experience. In this role, you will lead a high-performing team to deliver these critical solutions and drive innovation within AppleCare.
**Description**
As the Engineering Manager for Field Diagnostics Engineering, you will lead a team that has proven itself by delivering high-quality hardware and software diagnostic solutions. You will build and nurture partnerships with cross-functional teams both within and outside of AppleCare. You will be hands-on, disciplined, and driven to succeed in a challenging environment, ensuring our field repair technicians have the tools they need to provide exceptional customer experiences.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
+ 10+ years of experience in software development, with 4+ years in an engineering management role.
+ Experience programming in macOS or iOS ecosystems (Swift/Objective-C), including building and debugging system or application-level software.
+ Experience with computer architecture and hardware/software interactions.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience with macOS or iOS system architecture, including security models.
+ Knowledge of CPUs, GPUs, and SoCs.
+ Experience with field diagnostics, manufacturing, or repair workflows.
+ Experience with diagnostics, logging, telemetry, or observability systems.
+ Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
+ Focus on execution, quality, and reliability, with a track record of delivering complex systems.
+ Communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to cross-functional teams and leaders.
