**Job Description**
AECOM is seeking a Value Engineering Specialist to support the identification, evaluation, and implementation of value engineering initiatives across a defined portion of a large, complex infrastructure program. This role is designed for a technically proficient professional who can analyze functions, assess cost and schedule impacts, and recommend improvements that enhance performance without compromising operational readiness.
In this role, you will collaborate with engineering, construction, and program controls teams to identify opportunities for cost savings, schedule optimization, and design efficiency. You will contribute to the development of value engineering proposals, facilitate stakeholder reviews, and support implementation tracking across assigned projects.
**Responsibility’s include but are not limited to:**
+ Perform value engineering reviews focused on improving the value of assigned projects through functional analysis and performance optimization.
+ Analyze design concepts, construction methods, and project sequencing to identify cost and time saving opportunities.
+ Support the development of value engineering proposals, including technical justification, cost impact, and implementation feasibility.
+ Participate in multidisciplinary design and constructability reviews to identify alternatives that enhance program outcomes.
+ Coordinate with engineering, construction, and controls teams to evaluate proposed changes and assess downstream impacts.
+ Prepare and deliver value engineering presentations and documentation for stakeholder review and decision-making.
+ Track implementation of approved value engineering recommendations and monitor performance outcomes.
+ Maintain liaison with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on value engineering priorities.
+ Support the development of program-wide value engineering standards, workflows, and reporting tools.
+ Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring inefficiencies and recommending systemic solutions.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements**
+ BA/BS in engineering, construction management, architecture, or related field plus 6 years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
+ US citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.
**Preferred Requirements**
+ Experience supporting value engineering initiatives within large federal or infrastructure programs.
+ Strong understanding of design principles, construction methods, and project delivery frameworks.
+ Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and cost estimates to support functional analysis.
+ Familiarity with earned value management, cost forecasting, and schedule analysis.
+ Experience preparing technical reports, presentations, and stakeholder briefings.
+ Excellent analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project management tools.
**Additional Information**
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of an enhanced background investigation, which may include, but is not limited to, verification of employment and education, a criminal history review, drug screening, and a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check, as applicable.
Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $120000 to $160000.
