worldwide. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Bluetooth Software
Performance Lead Engineer to lead a team of performance engineers and spearhead
the optimization of software design across Apple's latest product lines, including the
next generation of iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, Mac, and more. In this role,
you will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership to shape performance
strategy and drive results from early prototyping through productization.

**Description**

As a lead member of the Connectivity Firmware Performance team, you will be
responsible for guiding and mentoring a team of Bluetooth performance engineers,
setting technical direction, and ensuring the successful execution of performance
evaluation initiatives. You will define performance strategies at a system and product
level, aligning engineering efforts with product goals and Apple's high standards for
quality.

**Minimum Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience

+ Deep expertise in Bluetooth protocols and wireless system architecture

+ Experience leading or technically mentoring engineers on complex, cross-functional projects

+ Strong background in RF, digital signal processing, and wireless communications

+ Proficiency in Python, including hands-on use of data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib) for large-scale data manipulation, analysis, and visualization

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Experience with power and performance trade-off analysis at system and product levels

+ Background in applying AI/ML techniques to wireless performance problems

+ Experience across multiple layers of wireless system architecture (PHY, MAC, host stack, application)

+ Track record of driving performance improvements from prototype through mass production

+ Ability to navigate ambiguous problems and adjust strategies as new data and constraints emerge

+ Strong sense of ownership with the ability to drive efforts to resolution under tight schedules

+ Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field strongly preferred
