The Northrop Grumman Chief Information and Digital Office (CIDO) is seeking a dynamic, innovative Sr. Principal Project Manager to support the Enterprise Services (ES) Program Management Office within the Defense Systems Sector, aligned to the Weapons Systems Division. This individual will manage enterprise-wide ERP projects and supporting a portfolio of digital transformation and IT strategies.
This highly visible role requires exceptional cross-functional coordination skills, leadership presence, and a deep understanding of the systems involved in an ERP transformation program to include Business Management, Manufacturing, and Logistics, and Global Supply Chain. The successful candidate will work on a hybrid schedule with a required onsite presence at one of the following locations: McLean, VA; Roy, UT; or Huntsville, AL.
**While some remote flexibility is allowed, consistent onsite engagement is essential to support key meetings, stakeholder alignment, and program execution. The in-office schedule will be determined based on business needs.**
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
ERP & Executive Program Management
• Lead and coordinate enterprise ERP initiatives focusing on SAP S/4HANA transitions, integrations, and operationalization.
• Act as Chief of Staff to Weapons Systems Division Director, facilitating executive priorities, communication flow, and stakeholder alignment.
• Track and report progress on ERP and digital initiatives to CIDO leadership, ensuring on-time, on-budget execution.
• Represent program leadership in high-stakes forums, PMRs, and executive briefings.
Business Operations Support
• Oversee financial, contractual, scheduling, and proposal management across assigned programs.
• Manage and refine business operations cadence, including PMRs, forecasting, and the Long-Range Strategic Plan (LRSP).
• Implement Earned Value Management (EVM) practices, support proposal strategy, and assist in managing risk/opportunity portfolios.
• Lead and/or support customer-facing business reviews, virtually or in person, as required.
**Level 4 Basic Qualifications:**
• Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of experience, or Master’s degree and 6 years of experience, or PhD and 4 years of experience; a High School diploma or equivalent and 9 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree.
• The selected candidate must be able to obtain a DoD Top Secret security clearance within a period of time as determined by customer and/or program requirements; maintaining the required security clearance will be a condition of continued employment.
• Must have at least 5 years of experience as a Project Manager with knowledge in cost, budgets, and schedules.
• Proven experience supporting enterprise IT, business, or digital transformation efforts.
• Ability to manage financial planning, program performance, and stakeholder alignment.
• Must have familiarity with technical solutions, infrastructure implementations, process/project documentation, and/or liaison interfacings for large enterprise organizations. Demonstrated success managing large-scale, matrixed programs with executive-level visibility.
• Monitor customer satisfaction with IT service delivery and engage CIDO resources to assist as required to meet and exceed IT and Security service level objectives for the site.
• Identify systemic technical and service delivery challenges affecting the customer and then coordinate solutions with functional representatives; engage constructively to identify solutions.
• Experience providing strategic direction regarding IT products, processes, applications, and/or technologies is required.
• **This position requires 25% travel, including domestic air travel and overnight stays, to support onsite program leadership, customer engagement, and ERP transformation milestones. Travel is a non-negotiable, essential function of the role.**
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience using the following MS Office Suite tools: Word, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA transition, integration, or sustainment initiatives.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering Management, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or Network Engineering (or similar STEM related discipline) is preferred.
• Previous Enterprise Services Program Manager experience.
• Familiarity with NGDS business, government customers, and government programs is a plus.
• Broad background in Cyber Security, IT Infrastructure, Business Applications, and IT operations.
• Ability to perform risk and opportunity analysis and prepare detailed cost and technical proposals would be ideal.
• Customer-focused with proven leadership and excellent communication skills, with a proven history of briefing Executive Leadership (Director and Vice President level).
Proven history of driving cross-functional teams to action when working in a matrix organization.
• Current DoD Top Secret security clearance.
Salary Range: $131,100.00 - $196,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
