**Job Description:**

**Work Schedule: Part Time, Cardiac Rehab Registration**

+ Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits and obtain required pre-authorizations within established timeframes.

+ Register patients accurately for services, ensuring correct demographic and insurance information while minimizing duplicate medical records.

+ Create accurate estimates of patient financial responsibility and collect payments or establish payment plans.

+ Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue Advance Beneficiary Notices of Noncoverage (ABNs) when required.

+ Provide excellent customer service by coordinating communication between departments and documenting all patient and insurance interactions.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**

• Mature judgement in dealing with patients, physicians, and insurance representatives

• Working knowledge of Microsoft programs and familiarity with database programs

• Ability to effectively learn and perform multiple tasks, and organize work in a systematic and efficient fashion

• Understanding of HIPAA privacy rules and ability to use discretion when discussing patient-related information that is confidential in nature as needed to perform duties

• Advanced understanding of insurance knowledge and benefits

• Advanced understanding of hospital electronic medical report (EMR) system

• Associate [Preferred]

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
