As a **Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Roving** in **Reston, VA** , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

**How This Role Works:**

+ **Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”):** You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.

+ **Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program:** In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

**Responsibilities:**

+ Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a healthcare location.

+ Respond to incidents, medical-related calls for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while documenting relevant activity according to post guidelines.

+ Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and/or potential hazards.

+ Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas to help support authorized access, visitor processing, and other security-related protocols.

+ Communicate with site contacts, first responders, and Allied Universal leadership regarding incidents, concerns, and/or changing conditions at the location.

**Minimum Requirements:**

+ Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.

+ Possess an armed guard card and/or license.

+ Be at least 21 years of age.

+ Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.

+ Experience using handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.

+ Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.

+ Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

+ Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

+ Participate in industry-specific security training programs.

+ Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

+ A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
