Senior Product Manager

The explosion of hybrid and remote work has forced every company to rethink how they deliver the tools developers need to be productive while keeping their organization secure. Microsoft Dev Box is changing the way developers use their development environments by providing more flexible, higher performance, and more secure developer workstations in the cloud that are accessible from anywhere. We’re looking for a product manager on the team that builds Microsoft Dev Box who is excited about delivering new experiences that delight developers and help enterprises seamlessly move to the cloud.

This role is best suited for a **Senior Product Manager** who is technology minded, thoughtfully analytical in understanding customer requirements and context, and eager to drive tangible business impact in a collaborative team. You will need to collaborate across organizations to ensure extraordinary experiences across tools, cloud hosting, and customer outreach. Technical proficiency and problem solving are to understand customer pain points and communicate effectively with the development team. Your role will require making decisions regarding trade-offs and challenges with app development so previous experience in developer tools would be beneficial.

We are a part of Developer Division (“DevDiv”) who’s mission is to empower every developer and their teams to achieve more by building the tools and services developers love and enterprises trust for innovation and delivery. We build developer platforms, tools, and services that enable citizen developers and professional developers go from idea to code to production. We also build cloud services like Copilot, Microsoft Dev Box, Azure Deployment Environments, and many others that are delighting developers and changing the way we build, test, and run code in test and production.

**Responsibilities**

In this role, you will need to excel at contributing to cross functional v-teams by working closely with customers and partners using our products. Additional responsibilities include:

+ Engaging with customers and partners to understand business needs and opportunities

+ Defining and prioritizing customer scenarios and experiences

+ Communicating feature requirements and feature progress

+ Specifying, owning, and growing product features through the whole product lifecycle

+ Creating differentiated developer experiences across development tools

+ Leveraging data and analytics to capture progress and key results toward team objectives

+ Communicate with customers via blog posts, documentation, and engage on Open Source forums

+ Build end-to-end demos of scenarios for your developer experiences

+ Work with marketing/PR teams and presenting occasionally at conferences

**Qualifications**

Required qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science OR Scientific/engineering discipline AND 5+ years experience in relevant software design and development/DevOps experience, preferably specializing in distributed computing or developer platforms.

+ OR equivalent experience

+ 2+ years of technical product management experience

Preferred qualifications:

+ Bachelor's Degree AND 7+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

+ OR equivalent experience. 

+ Growth mindset with a desire to continually learn and apply new skills to a broad range of projects as you dig into complex problems and create solutions that scale to a large system and codebase

+ Possess cross group and interpersonal skills necessary to articulate the business needs and importance of our security deliverables with experience working with data for analysis/insights 

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
