Senior Business Development Manager

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Business Development Manager to identify and execute strategic business development opportunities with premium content providers across a number of different verticals. This role will be responsible for identifying relevant content providers, establishing and maintaining relationships, defining new deal constructs, and ensuring compliance with licensing terms and conditions.

**Responsibilities**

Customer and Partner Focus

+ Explores, identifies and pursues partnerships with select content providers for provider needs.

+ Advocates for content creators and owners, has a good understanding of industry trends and brings the voice of the field into internal Microsoft discussions.

+ Utilizes partner feedback to create new value propositions by vertical and new areas of value exchange for the partner and Microsoft.

+ Develops internal and external relationships to establish a network of business and technical decision makers.

+ Articulates the value of Microsoft solutions in the context of partner’s perspective, leveraging knowledge of partner business priorities and/or drivers and anticipating changes and actions to influence decision making.

Partnership Strategy

+ Works with your manager and internal product teams to determine content acquisition needs and identifies the right partnerships to acquire the necessary rights.

+ Researches technology, industry, and competitive trends, and works internally to understand how Microsoft is positioned. Shares research and insights with team and identifies actions based on insights. Internal version. Please do not forward externally.

+ Works with stakeholders to develop target partner list to close high-priority gaps across the business. Identifies opportunities and target partners to inform internal and external decision makers.

Negotiation

+ Leads negotiations across all deal stages.

+ Identifies negotiation scenarios and escalates as appropriate.

+ Secures terms that are mutually beneficial to the parties involved.

Deal Management/Governance

+ Assist with execution and deal management by communicating and reporting with Microsoft stakeholders. Tracks blocking issues and works with deal stakeholders to drive resolutions.

+ Develop post-deal governance and execution plans and develop KPIs to demonstrate achieved business value. Ensure design, communication, and alignment in the creation of governance.

+ Troubleshoot simple issues.

**Qualifications**

**Required/Minimum Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's Degree in Business, Liberal Arts, Science, or related field and 5+ years relevant work experience (business development, product, marketing, or sales role)

+ OR equivalent experience, with a proven record of delivering quantifiable results.

+ Experience working with external partners in content acquisition or content publisher ecosystem.

+ Experience in establishing new business models.

**Additional or Preferred Qualifications**

+ Ability to work independently and manage through ambiguous situations

+ Premium publisher or content Industry background.

+ Experience and poise to interact with executives internally and externally.

+ Team player, willing to collaborate and support colleagues.

+ Key interpersonal traits: creativity, adaptability, unquestionable ethics & integrity, and a readiness to take calculated risks

+ Proficient verbal and written communication

Business Development IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $101,200 - $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $130,000 - $213,200 per year.
