Mechanical Engineer R&D

**Summary:**

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer energized by collaboratively solving problems with a cross functional team. They can analyze, design, iterate, and communicate as they collaborate with others. They consider a broad range of business and hardware requirements including materials, manufacturability, form factor, ergonomics, and integration of technologies on softgoods substrates. They know how product will handle future problems and can prioritize the hardest items first.

**Required Skills:**

Mechanical Engineer R&D Responsibilities:

1. Work across the full product development cycle to deliver mechanical component/subsystem designs from concept to production

2. Manage suppliers for prototypes and production of parts

3. Able to manage the schedule of your parts in concert with the full program schedule

4. Partner with a cross-functional team of engineers and researchers

5. Work with first and third party partners to advance TRL of component technology

**Minimum Qualifications:**

6. Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience

7. 2+ years of experience developing high-volume consumer products with stringent SWAP-C constraints in such as wearables, mobile devices, or similar

8. 3+ years experience in 3D CAD modeling (NX or similar)

9. Experience working cross functionally to rapidly prototyping new concepts

10. Experience designing for CNC, injection molding, die cutting, lamination

11. Experience developing wearable devices using elastomers and textiles

12. Experience integrating haptic components into device

13. Project management experience

14. Experience managing component vendors

15. Experience planning and executing Design of Experiments (DOEs)

**Public Compensation:**

$111,000/year to $164,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
