Unit Aide

**Job Summary and Responsibilities**

The incumbent assists other members of the healthcare team with providing basic patient care under the direction of an RN.

+ Performs basic patient care under the direction of the RN which includes assisting with patient ADL routine, measurement of intake and output and obtaining vital signs

+ Completes appropriate documentation which includes patient records ensuring it is completed according to hospital policy

+ Assumes responsibility for professional growth by taking advantage of the available opportunities

+ Participates in peer review and staff development, which includes unit and quality process improvement activities

+ Actively advocates for patient rights and identifies potential conflict. Seeks counsel for resolution of conflict

+ Communicates as appropriate with other members of the healthcare team

Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

**Job Requirements**

+ High School Diploma or equivalent

+ Previous Unit Aide experience (If operationally able, hospital will consider training a non-experience incumbent)

+ Current BLS certification (Must be through an American Heart Association provider)

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

+ Experience in healthcare environment

**Pay Range**

$29.41 - $33.04 /hour
