Essential Job Duties:

The HR Systems & Training Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating engaging learning experiences that support University Human Resources ( UHR ) initiatives, services, systems, and business processes. This role serves as a key partner in driving employee learning, technology adoption, and organizational effectiveness across NC State University.

The position develops training programs for HR professionals, managers, employees, faculty, and campus partners using a variety of instructional methods, including instructor-led training, virtual learning, e-learning modules, videos, job aids, and self-service resources. While the role supports HR systems and digital tools, its primary focus is ensuring learners can successfully navigate HR processes, services, and technologies through effective adult learning practices.

The HR Training & Development Specialist collaborates closely with subject matter experts, project teams, and stakeholders to identify learning needs, develop scalable training solutions, and measure the effectiveness of training programs that advance UHR strategic priorities.

This position will be primarily remote, with the requirement to attend on-campus meetings and trainings on campus as needed

Required Qualifications:

+ Proven experience as a technical trainer or in a similar role.

+ Strong knowledge of HR systems and technologies.

+ Excellent communication and presentation skills.

+ Ability to create engaging and effective instructional materials.

+ Proficiency in using various training delivery methods, including in-person, virtual, and e-learning platforms.

+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

+ Ability to work collaboratively with teams.

+ Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in project management.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience in Human Resources, organizational development, talent development, or employee training.

+ Experience supporting HR technologies, enterprise systems, or digital transformation initiatives.

+ Experience working in higher education.Experience with learning management systems and online learning platforms (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, LinkedIn Learning, ServiceNow University).

+ Experience developing video-based learning content and e-learning modules.

+ Familiarity with PeopleSoft, ServiceNow HR Service Delivery (HRNow), PeopleAdmin, or similar enterprise systems.

+ Certification in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Organizational Development, or related disciplines.

+ Experience supporting organizational change management and technology adoption initiatives.
