Intel's Foundry Technology and Manufacturing Automation organization is seeking a Software Application Development Engineer to drive the requirements, development, qualifications, and deployment of factory automation capabilities for process, metrology, and material handling system equipment in Assembly factories. The nature of this work involves critical analysis in the implementation of hardware and software components, and problem-solving within the dynamics of an operating factory.

Intel's Foundry Automation (IFA) is hiring an experienced software engineer to be part of the team responsible for the design, development, delivery, and support of Production Activity Control automation and analytics solutions for Package and Test manufacturing facilities. In this position, you will work in partnership with Assembly and Test Technology Development (ATTD), Assembly Test Manufacturing (ATM), and Disaggregation Manufacturing Organization (DMO) customers. In this role, you will drive fundamental improvements in leading edge scheduling, execution control, and dispatching capabilities in pursuit of advance packaging technology and manufacturing leadership for Intel. The ideal candidate for this position will be a strong technical leader who enjoys working in a fast paced, data-driven, and results-oriented engineering environment and has a strong desire for learning, adapting, and driving change.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

+ Analyze prototypes and experiment with factory-wide planning, scheduling and dispatching algorithms and solutions that optimize output, cycle time, and equipment utilization with environmental requirements and constraints throughout the factory.

+ Develop proof of concepts and initial pilots utilizing heuristics, optimization, statistical analysis, data mining and machine learning methods to solve novel and diverse manufacturing decision problems.

+ Work with automation and manufacturing engineers to create algorithms that optimize factory performance in various scenarios.

+ Interact with manufacturing engineers, factory planners, industrial engineers, and automation engineers to create integrated solutions that improve manufacturing output and productivity.

**Qualifications:**

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

+ US Citizenship required.

+ Ability to obtain and maintain US Government TS Security Clearance and SCI access.

+ Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Industrial Engineering or related STEM field with 2+ years of industry experience.

+ 1+ years of experience in software design/development on tools such as Visual Studio, .Net Framework, WCF, WPF, XML, Oracle/MS SQL databases.

+ 1+ years of experience in graphical UI development experience.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Active US Government TS/SCI Security Clearance.

+ Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Industrial Engineering or related STEM field with 1+ years of experience

+ Experience using Applied Materials' Advanced Productivity Family (APF).

+ Production Planning and Control.

+ Automated testing methodologies.

+ Manufacturing execution planning.

+ Decision support systems.

+ Experience in at least one of the following: CPLEX Optimization. Studio, ILOG Optimization Programming Language (OPL) Studio, Python Pandas, NumPy, SciPy.

+ Semiconductor Assembly/Test Area processes.

+ Experience with applying decision science tools to manufacturing systems and network flow problems.

+ Program languages, scripting languages, data mining, visualization, or factory simulation tools.

+ Software engineering practices.

+ Source control management.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US:

$96,360.00-187,500.00 USD
