**CTG is seeking to fill an Application Developer Java & Web Technologies opening for our client in Phoenix, AZ.**

**Location:** Phoenix, AZ

**Duration:** 12 months

**Duties:**

+ Design, develop, test, and deploy full stack Java applications using Vert.x framework

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features

+ Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability

+ Maintain and improve the performance of existing software

+ Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback

+ Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and production issues

+ Follow best practices for secure coding and application development

**Skills:**

+ Strong proficiency in Java and Java-based frameworks (especially Vert.x)

+ Experience with full stack development including front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular or React)

+ Knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture

+ Familiarity with version control tools such as Git

+ Proficiency with build and dependency management tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle)

+ Exposure to cloud environments and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus

**Experience:**

+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in Java application development

+ Hands-on experience with Vert.x or similar reactive frameworks

+ Prior experience working with American Express or in the financial sector is preferred

+ Experience in Agile development environments

**Education:**

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
