Material Handler

Hands-on warehouse work with some forklift time — perfect for dependable material handlers who like to stay moving.

The Advance Group has partnered with a Distribution company in Perrysburg, Ohio who is looking for experienced 1st shift Material Handlers to join their team! The ideal candidate will possess experience loading/unloading trucks with a Forklift, but also enjoy hands on work and order picking.
Responsibilities of the Material Handler candidates:

Operate a sit-down propane forklift to load and unload trucks safely and efficiently
Follow a pick list to locate, label, and stage pallets for outgoing shipments
Handle warehouse tasks such as:
Boxing plastic shelving, plastic trash cans, or lawn chairs and bagging items for online orders
Rebuilding broken pallets and tying off loads
Cleaning and organizing when needed

Use downtime to prep future shipments and help keep the workspace organized
Lift items up to 40 lbs
Work safely and follow all company guidelines
Requirements of the Material Handler candidates:
Consistent work history — we’re looking for candidates who’ve shown commitment and reliability in past roles
Very detail oriented
2yrs+ sit-down forklift experience is preferred
Dependability and a good attitude are more important than having every skill on day one — if you’re willing to show up and learn, we’ll invest in your success
Comfortable handling manual labor to repair pallets and stack products by hand
High School Diploma/GED
Own vehicle and valid driver's license
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
Willingness to work independently and in part of a team

Hours of the Material Handler candidates:

1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:30AM – 4 PM
Occasional weekday overtime (1–2 hours extra as needed)
Optional weekend overtime once hired in
- Saturdays: 6–8 hours
- Sundays: 3–4 hours

Compensation for Material Handler candidates:

$18.00/hour starting pay
