**Job Summary and Responsibilities**
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented **Housekeeper** to join our team. The **Housekeeper** will be responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment in our healthcare facility, which is essential to ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently and as part of a team to ensure that all areas of the facility are clean and well-maintained.
+ Clean and sanitize patient rooms, common areas, and other areas of the facility
+ Follow established cleaning and disinfection protocols and procedures
+ Collect and dispose of waste, biohazardous waste, and linens
+ Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms and common areas
+ Respond to requests for cleaning services from healthcare staff
+ You may operate heavy-duty equipment and use special cleaning equipment.
**Job Requirements**
+ Housekeeping experience required, utilizing basic housekeeping practices and procedures, proper handling/disposal of infectious waste, and proper safety skills in handling of housekeeping chemicals
+ Acute healthcare work experience involving the use of heavy equipment such as buffers, extractors, wide area vacuums, and wet vacuums
**Special Skills:**
+ Ability to converse, comprehend, and communicate verbally in English.
+ Ability to work tactfully and effectively with team members, patients, and visitors.
+ Ability to maintain confidentiality of issues and materials designed as such.
**This position is represented by SEIU UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.**
