**Pay Range:** $18.87 - $26.66 per hour

**Job Summary:**

The Material Handler is responsible for handling and managing all stock items, receiving deliveries, filling orders and delivering to various departments. Responsible for ensuring accuracy of deliveries and the stable flow of materials in the supply chain department. Prepares materials for shipping which include weighting, packing and preparing shipping labels. Transports equipment, medical supplies, office supplies, furniture and hazardous materials throughout the hospital and Professional Office Building. Cycle counts available stock and verifies counts with the inventory control standards. Inventories supplies on nursing unit and utilizes Par Ex computer terminal and handheld. Assists with mailroom when needed.

**Job Responsibilities:**

+ Operates material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, flatbed carts, and dollies to move stock, make deliveries, or reorganize storage.

+ Unloads all incoming freight, examines for damage and scans all carriers tracking information for all shipments to dock.

+ Receives and inspects incoming items for damage, correct identifying information, quantity, and variety against bills of lading, packing slips, purchase orders or other records

+ Reports all shipping discrepancies with supervisor to rectify; performs proper processes, paperwork, or forms required for shipment documentation.

+ Unpacks received items to be stocked and/or delivered to correct shelves/bins/Point of Use locations (i.e. in the supply chain department, nursing units, and other departments).

+ Picks orders utilizing handheld device and validates units of measure, quantity, and correct product and department before delivery.

+ Loads, off loads, park, and stage supply carts appropriately parks/stages carts for next utilization.

+ Utilizes ParEx and LINK system to verify reported inventory par levels by comparing to actual physical counts, units of measure, and product information to re-order replenishment stock accordingly.

+ Transports equipment, laboratory supplies, office supplies, furniture and hazardous materials to customers; secures cargo properly and safely with weight evenly distributed.

+ Pick up, process, restock and/or ship product returns from end-users in a timely fashion.

+ Cleans, organizes and maintains all aspects of stocking areas, workstations, and warehouse spaces to ensure compliance with safety, infection control regulations such as product expiration dates.

+ Participates in inventory and cycle count procedures as assigned.

+ Answers all telephone calls and emails in accordance to the department’s scripts ensuring calls and emails are properly answered, appropriate actions are followed and in a timely manner. Apply ICARE and IConnect in all interactions between inter/intra departments.

+ Participates in hospital drills and training including but not limited to Hazmat training.

+ Performs any and all Materials Management/Supply Chain job functions as assigned or required.

+ Complete diary logs into inventory, scanning packing slips into proper file folders.

+ Provides coverage and additional assignments as needed to support Supervisor, Supply Chain

**Required Job Qualifications:**

• 4 years of work experience in Healthcare setting managing inventory

• High School Diploma/GED

• Experience managing inventory products for specialty areas ie OR, Cath Lab, SPD

• Ability to communicate effectively and exhibit excellent oral and written skills with customers, patients, peers and supervisors.

• Prior experience with data inquiry, data entry and P.C. operations such as Microsoft Office.

• Basic math, reading, and writing skills

• Ability to work daily repetitive tasks and the weight of the merchandise.

• Majority of workday is spent on feet lifting, pushing, pulling, walking distances on daily repetitive basis.

• Must be able to lift weights up to 50lbs and within 10-25lbs repetitively.

• Ability to operate powered equipment appropriately and safely as required by varying environmental conditions.

• Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks with deadlines to meet changing workload demands.

• Experience with the Lawson ERP system; including the Mobile Supply Chain module

**Preferred Job Qualifications:**

• Associates Degree

• Ability to coordinate shift coverage (as needed)

• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities, prioritize daily activities, problem solve and make independent decisions
