Capacity Planning Optimization Lead

**Summary:**

Meta is seeking a Performance and Capacity Engineer to drive infrastructure efficiency and reliability across Meta's global fleet of servers, data centers, and network resources. In this role, you will lead the development of capacity modeling frameworks, performance benchmarking methodologies, and demand forecasting strategies that directly inform multi-billion dollar infrastructure investment decisions. You will operate at the intersection of software performance analysis, hardware utilization, and long-range capacity planning, ensuring Meta's products (including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and AI workloads) are supported by infrastructure that scales efficiently and reliably.

**Required Skills:**

Capacity Planning Optimization Lead Responsibilities:

1. Own infrastructure capacity planning for all of Meta: all software products/services and plans for how to scale server and data center resources most efficiently

2. Build, own, and execute cohesive end-to-end Integrated Planning processes and methodologies across Strategic, Tactical/Operations, and Execution horizons and granularities

3. Align requirements and expectations across all technical and business functions

4. Leverage technical experience and expertise, to design and build company-wide transformational Planning programs, strategies, and methodologies across Infrastructure to scale Meta’s infrastructure efficiently

5. Partner with Finance and business teams to balance cost efficiency with technical and product considerations

6. Manage unplanned emergent capacity requirements across all horizons in a constrained environment

7. Develop decision scenarios and trade-offs to drive multi-billion dollar infrastructure decisions at the highest levels of the organization

8. Own the communications strategy for planning processes and decisions, including executive-level communications and status updates

9. Use technical judgment and experience to contribute to tools and technology strategy for Planning

10. Work cross-functionally to define problem statements, collect data, and make recommendations to drive change and optimization at the company level

**Minimum Qualifications:**

11. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience

12. Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience

13. Bachelor’s degree in a management, technical or engineering field

14. 16+ years of experience working in Infrastructure/Cloud/Hardware with a background in Strategy, Capacity Planning, Supply Chain Optimization, or technology strategy consulting

15. Experience leading enterprise-level Planning processes with frequent executive interaction

16. Experience distilling complex data and high ambiguity into actionable insights and recommendations, to quickly separate signal from noise for executive communication and decision-making

17. Experience applying business and financial analysis to form and refine hypotheses into actionable recommendations

18. Experience identifying and framing complex or ambiguous infrastructure problems, defining opportunity spaces, and developing actionable strategies

19. Experience in completing multiple cloud, infrastructure, or hardware optimization projects

23. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

24. Direct experience designing and establishing new infrastructure planning processes from the ground up at a hyperscale cloud or infrastructure provider

**Public Compensation:**

$219,000/year to $301,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
