**Job Description:**
This position is an HSPA certified technician, responsible for all Sterile Processing services throughout the designated large-size trauma facility.
The incumbent will provide leadership, planning, and coordination of staff and day-to-day operations in addition to emergency, trauma and transplant situations/procedures. This may include but is not limited to general Sterile Processing functions, inventory control, compliance with accreditation, state and federal regulations, HR and budgeting responsibilities, capital equipment planning, and billing. The incumbent oversees and coordinates on-time and accurate delivery of supplies, equipment, and instruments and is responsible for appropriate staffing, problem solving, and providing appropriate quality services. Provides leadership, planning, and coordination for hospital/system goals and initiatives. Act as an extension of the Manager/Director by performing selected leadership duties as delegated by the Manager/Director, Communicate and maintain working relationship with Intermountain Senior Leadership in key support roles.
**Position Schedule: 7am-330pm with flexibility**
**Essential Functions**
+ Provide leadership, planning, and coordination of staff and day-to-day operations in addition to emergency, trauma and transplant situations/procedures
+ Compliance with accreditation, state and federal regulations, in conjunction with adherence and alignment of corporate policies, and procedures. Ensure legal and regulatory compliance standards are met.
+ HR responsibilities for 25+ direct reports
+ Oversight of financial budgeting, capital equipment and planning
+ Provides leadership, planning and coordination of hospital/system goals and initiatives
+ May oversee human tissue handling, storage, and tracking
+ Perform additional delegated leadership duties in conjunction with hospital or operational lane support
+ Locate, read and perform a manufacturer’s instructions for use (IFU).
+ Ensures legal and regulatory compliance and standards are met for sterilization of supplies, equipment, and instruments. May also oversee and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for human tissue handling, storage, and tracking, as appropriate.

**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Central Processing Certification from HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association)
+ 2+ years’ experience in Sterile Processing or Surgical Services in a healthcare setting
+ 25+ Direct Reports
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience with Sterile Processing Department software
+ CER or CIS certification through HSPA
+ 2 years of sterile processing experience
+ Bachelor’s Degree
+ Preferred experience with excel, power point, and SPM software for instrumentation management
**Physical Requirements**
+ Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
+ Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
+ Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
+ May have the same physical requirements as those of clinical or patient care jobs, when the leader takes clinical shifts.
+ For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
