Electrical Rework Technician | Electronics Repair | Soldering & Component Rework
The Advance Group has partnered with an electronics manufacturing company in Millbury, Ohio that is looking for an Electrical Rework Technician to join their team. This is a technical, hands-on position focused on precision electronic soldering, component replacement, troubleshooting, and repair of SMT and through-hole assemblies.
Candidates with previous electronic rework, soldering, electrical assembly, or electronics manufacturing experience are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to produce consistent, high-quality workmanship while following technical documentation and industry standards.
Job duties for Electrical Rework Technician:
• Perform advanced electronic rework, repair, and troubleshooting of SMT and through-hole assemblies
• Complete precision soldering, component replacement, and repair activities according to drawings, schematics, and workmanship standards
• Troubleshoot electronic assemblies to the component level and determine appropriate repair methods
• Review returned, failed, or nonconforming products and identify required repair solutions
• Read and interpret schematics, manufacturing drawings, bills of material, and work instructions
• Use soldering equipment, hot-air tools, microscopes, hand tools, and electronic test equipment safely and correctly
• Document repair activities accurately and ensure completed work meets quality requirements before release
• Communicate technical concerns, recurring failures, or documentation issues promptly
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe rework area
• Support daily workflow within the rework department while maintaining production and quality expectations
Requirements for Electrical Rework Technician:
• Previous electronic rework, electronic repair, electrical assembly, or advanced soldering experience required
• Experience with SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and through-hole component repair preferred
• Ability to read and understand schematics, drawings, bills of material, and technical documentation
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and repair issues at the component level
• Experience using microscopes, hot-air equipment, soldering tools, and electronic test equipment preferred
• IPC-7711/7721 rework and repair training or comparable experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce consistent, high-quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently while following established processes and procedures
• Previous experience leading or directing workflow is preferred
• Reliable attendance and dependable work history required
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift or team lift up to 25 lbs.
• Associate degree, military technical training, or equivalent technical experience preferred
Shift for Electrical Rework Technician:
• Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4pm
Pay for Electrical Rework Technician:
• $17-19/hr based on experience
