The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for the electrical control integrity and functionality of all manufacturing equipment used in the production of writing instruments.

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:**

+ Design electrical control systems for automated assembly and packaging equipment per OSHA standards and NFPA ’79 guidelines.

+ Write programs for programmable logic controllers.

+ Understand, annotate, and modify existing PLC programs while having limited supporting documentation.

+ Troubleshooting robotics systems and applications

+ Specify and program A/C servo systems

+ Electrically evaluate safety measures on new and existing processes

+ Approve electrical designs on all new equipment

+ Design, setup, and program human machine interfaces

+ Integrate new levels of automation into existing processes

+ Collaborate with Engineers and Technicians to design and apply new system processes

+ Drive standardization of electrical components in all manufacturing processes

+ Optimize machine performance electrically to maximize overall equipment effectiveness

+ Design and implement control enhancements to maximize product quality

+ Assist the maintenance staff in diagnosing problems with manufacturing equipment and implementing solutions

+ Train maintenance technicians to upgrade their electrical knowledge skill set

**REQUIRED JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:**

· Requirements also include a working knowledge of machine design, AC/DC motor controls, AC/DC servo systems, and a familiarity with NFPA’79.

· Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs and human machine interfaces

· Knowledge of Omron PLCs, and human machine interfaces are considered a plus.

· Candidate must possess good written and verbal communication skills in addition to strong organizational and planning skills.

· Candidate must also be a self-starter and team oriented player with a strong self-initiative, able to work with minimal supervision and take a proactive approach to problem solving.

· Working knowledge of Python, C++ and Networking

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:**

· 4 Year Degree in Engineering, with 5+ years hands-on experience, in design of programming, implementing, and troubleshooting PLC based controls platforms on high-speed assembly equipment.
