**Expeller Operator - Lubbock, TX**
**Position Summary**
The Cottonseed Flour Grinding Room Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining grinding equipment used in the production of cottonseed flour. This position ensures safe, efficient, and consistent processing of cottonseed meal into flour that meets company quality standards and production requirements. The operator performs equipment inspections, monitors process parameters, completes production documentation, and maintains a clean and safe work environment.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Operate grinding, milling, screening, conveying, and packaging equipment used in cottonseed flour production.
+ Monitor equipment performance and adjust settings to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
+ Inspect raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
+ Packages finished products into respective bagging/railcars as needed.
+ Conduct routine equipment checks and report mechanical issues to maintenance personnel.
+ Perform minor maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and equipment adjustments.
+ Monitor temperatures, particle size, moisture levels, and production rates.
+ Maintain accurate production records, logs, and quality control documentation.
+ Follow all safety, food/feed safety, environmental, and company operating procedures.
+ Safely handle materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment as authorized.
+ Assist with equipment changeovers and production startup/shutdown activities.
+ Clean work areas, equipment, and grinding rooms to maintain sanitation and housekeeping standards.
+ Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Respond appropriately to process upsets, equipment malfunctions, and emergency situations.
**Qualifications**
**Required**
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ Previous manufacturing, production, agricultural processing, grain milling, feed mill, or food processing experience preferred.
+ Ability to read and follow operating procedures and safety instructions.
+ Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
+ Ability to perform basic math calculations and maintain production records.
+ Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed.
**Preferred**
+ Experience operating industrial grinding or milling equipment.
+ Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
+ Knowledge of agricultural commodity processing and quality control procedures.
**Physical Requirements**
+ Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
+ Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and work platforms.
+ Ability to work in dusty, noisy, and varying temperature environments.
+ Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe footwear.
**Working Conditions**
+ Manufacturing and industrial processing environment.
+ Exposure to cottonseed dust, machinery, vibration, and noise.
+ Work performed around moving mechanical equipment and elevated work areas.
+ Compliance with all OSHA, environmental, and company safety requirements is mandatory.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
