Database Administrator

**MANTECH** seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented **Database Administrator** to join our team in **Key West, FL.**

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to:**

+ Collaborates on and supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex database systems, ensuring high availability, scalability, and robust security

+ Provide guidance and mentorship to Junior and Mid-Level Administrators in advanced database technologies, architecture and design principles.

+ Lead complex performance tuning initiatives, optimize database configurations for peak performance, and implement comprehensive Disaster Recovery Plans to ensure business continuity and data resilience

+ Collaborate with Application Developers, Architects, and Business Analysts to design and implement efficient data models, advanced database solutions, and data migration strategies

+ Contribute to the development and enforcement of stringent database security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements

**Minimum Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study, for example Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics or Engineering.

+ A bachelor’s degree can be substituted for a High School Diploma and Four (4) years of additional relevant experience or an Associate’s Degree and Two (2) years of additional relevant experience.

+ Five (5) or more years of experience in PostgreSQL Database Administration with a proven track record of successfully managing and maintaining database systems.

+ DoD 8140.01 IAT Level II certification.

+ Extensive experience in Linux and/or RedHat.

+ Experience in cloud architecture with technologies such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Master’s degree, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.

+ Experience working with Geospatial Data (e.g. PostGIS, etc.)

+ Experience working with automation frameworks (e.g. Ansible, Satellite, etc.)

+ Knowledge of NoSQL databases and their applications. Experience with database automation and scripting, data integration, and ETL processes.

+ Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.

**Clearance Requirements:**

+ Must possess active TS/SCI clearance.

**Physical Requirements:**

+ The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
