Drools Java Microservices Developer
CTG is seeking to fill a Drools Java Microservices Developer position for our client. This is an opportunity for an experienced developer with strong expertise in Drools, Java, Spring Boot microservices, and Azure cloud technologies.
**Location:** Jersey City, NJ
**Duration:** 6 months
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Develop and maintain Java-based microservices using Spring Boot
+ Design and implement business rules and decision engines using Drools
+ Build scalable, cloud-native applications within Azure environments
+ Develop RESTful APIs and event-driven integrations
+ Support CI/CD pipelines, DevOps automation, and cloud deployments
+ Integrate enterprise applications and APIs with Drools rule engines
+ Participate in Agile development, testing, troubleshooting, and production support
+ Contribute to containerized and event-driven architectures using Azure and Kafka technologies
**Required Skills**
+ Strong hands-on experience with Drools and business rule engine development
+ Proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming principles
+ Experience with Spring Boot microservices architecture
+ Strong understanding of REST APIs and distributed systems
+ Azure cloud services experience including AKS, Azure Functions, App Services, and APIM
+ Experience with Kafka, Zookeeper, and event-driven architectures
+ Familiarity with Azure DevOps, GitHub, YAML pipelines, and CI/CD practices
+ Knowledge of Terraform, ARM Templates, and Infrastructure as Code
+ Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases including Azure SQL and Cosmos DB
+ Understanding of monitoring and observability tools such as Azure Monitor and App Insights
+ Front-end exposure to ReactJS or Angular is a plus
+ Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
**Preferred Experience**
+ 7+ years of enterprise software development experience
+ Experience building scalable cloud-native applications
+ Background working in Agile and DevOps environments
+ Experience supporting highly available distributed systems
**Education**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $75.00 to $95.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
