Clinical Informatics Coordinator (FT) Gray, TN

SCOPE OF POSITION
The Clinical Informatics Coordinator is responsible for
•    Support and maintenance of the electronic applications; including redesign of work flows and processes to optimize clinical system capabilities to achieve critical objectives for improved patient safety and care delivery efficiency.  
•    Collaborating with user departments for analyzing and designing the applications to meet user needs per system capabilities; training users on use of system features; creating and updating training manuals and other instructional documents; troubleshooting problems that occur during daily operations; educating end-users on system issues, including downtimes and upgrade information.  
•    Creating and updating  troubleshooting documents used by other support caregivers, such as the Help Desk and On-Call Support persons
•    Collaborating in the development and/or maintenance of related policies and procedures.  
•    Creating and maintaining and user accounts, along with deactivating accounts when applicable.  
•    Identifying existing or potential issues by reviewing available reports and logs.  
•    Collaborating with IS department personnel to perform thorough upgrade test planning in the train system prior to installation product into production. 
•    Assisting in ensuring the content embedded within the clinical system represents best-practice, evidence-based, patient care knowledge, and meets regulatory & user requirements.  
•    Working collaboratively with caregivers who are knowledgeable about related systems/specialties, including but not limited to the Pharmacy System Analysts; Network Analysts; Nursing; Vendor Support; Device Support; Response Center; On-Call Support; Biomedical Engineering; Organizational Development; Human Resources; and Project Safetyfirst  
•    Working collaboratively with query/report writers for maintenance and support of related “applications” 
•    Working collaboratively with ancillary personnel to resolve departmental specific issues. 
•    Working collaboratively with all the Clinical Informaticist team, Organizational Development Educators and Clinical Department Leaders to identify ongoing educational end user requirements and updates. 
•    Assuring patient care which is based on patient needs, values, and choices. 
•    Providing exceptional customer service.  
•    Understanding clinical system inter-relationships and clinical operational processes
•    Team building, interviewing, and supervision of staff hired to deploy applications/upgrade related training and information throughout the organization
•    Serving on the informatics application related committees as an active participant
•    Practicing autonomously within the scope of professional nursing standards, the rules and regulations established by the Tennessee Board of Nursing, and knowledge of the policies and procedures within Ballad Health. 
•    Maintaining current knowledge of evidence based nursing practice and the ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills in the implementation of all phases of the nursing process. 
•    Participating in continuous quality/performance improvement of patient care through data collection, as well as, interpreting/evaluating the data and planning actions.
•    Demonstrating skill in developing and guiding collaborative collegial practice that delivers safe competent care based on meticulous application of the nursing process. 
•    Demonstrating sensitivity and understanding of the diverse cultural backgrounds of patients and caregivers. 
•    Serving as a professional role model as a caregiver, mentor, teacher and resource for peers and other providers.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
1.   Must have at minimum a Bachelor’s Degree (or an Associates and equivalent years of experience) in a healthcare field. Clinical experience is highly desirable, preferably nursing.    Basic computer skills are required. 
2.    BSN preferred.
3.    Evidence of continuing education as required by the TN Board of Nursing and demonstrated competencies for the role of Clinical Informatics Coordinator.
4.    Five years experience as healthcare practitioner.
5.    Previous experience with the system application is preferred
6.    ​Registered nurse must be licensed in the appropriate state.
